Crate and Barrel Eco Furniture Line

July 5, 2008

After months (maybe years?) of anticipation, the Crate and Barrel line of eco-friendly furniture and upholstery is finally available as of this past spring. Their eco product lines are part of a broader company-wide organizational strategy for environmental responsibility: from re-thinking their shipping and packaging processes to evaluating and reducing energy consumption at nearly every level of the business.

From Tropical Forest Trust-certified furniture to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified upholstery and greener packaging materials, they’re running the gamut on top to bottom, still accessible and affordable, residential furnishings.

I love new environmentally friendly furniture; especially when its actually atrractive. Officedesigns.com has a bunch of really nice pieces of green furniture and they give all the information about their recyclabilty and such as well. The people that work there are beyond nice too, so you can have the best of all worlds--while giving back to the world :)
