I’m trying to give Wal-Mart the benefit of the doubt in their quest for widespread sustainability through big-box retail, but I’d love to hear what people think about this: I just went to Walmart.com and entered "Eco" in the "For The Home" section, and came up with 29 items. Not bad, I suppose, as the array includes everything from pillows (above), to towels (below). But here’s how they qualify the towels as "eco:"
"Eco-friendly, 100% pure natural, low-twist cotton towel requires 20% less time in the dryer than regular cotton."
My question to readers: how good is good enough? Is it "half-hearted" or "better than nothing?"
