GOOD Design San Francisco event tonight

September 29, 2009

This evening, join a room full of designers who give a damn tonight in San Francisco for GOOD Magazine’s GOOD Design San Francisco event, hosted at SPUR. Following their very successful GOOD Design LA event, tonight’s programming (part of the Architecture and the City festival hosted by the AIA SF chapter) will consist of presentations from designers that propose innovative solutions to the city’s problems. With the theme of Everyday Design, six design teams were paired with six urban leaders, and were asked to pose solutions to six problems. Designers include Min|Day Architecture, Mike and Maaike, Stamen Design, Surface Design, Kuth Ranieri Architects, and Volume, Inc, and the urban leaders are Monique Moyer, Port of San Francisco; Nathaniel Ford, SFMTA; Chris Meany, Wilson Meany Sullivan; Michael Cohen, City of San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development; Carlos Garcia, San Francisco Unified School District; and Zahid Sardar, author, editor and columnist.

Similar to a Pecha Kucha event, the evening will be fast-paced and rabble-rousing, discussing issues ranging from city bike systems to public education and more. For more details visit aiasf.org/archandcity (where you can also buy tickets, which are $10 each).

Wow what a great turnout this event was, surely you cannot get this many great minds together and not feel inspired by the talent and cause driven effort surrounding this entire function.
