Organelle Design's Hangelier Lamps

October 15, 2009

Vancouver-based Orangelle Design has taken the most mundane of household objects, and made it into a shining luminaire. Their Hangelier line of lighting turns plastic and wooden hangers into dynamic and unique hanging light fixtures. The lamps are also part of a volunteer based project for the Vancouver Women’s Health Collective in conjunction with UBC SALA. Many designers and vendors have donated services and funds to the design/build initiative. Check out the full line and hear their story here.

What kind of lights are used in those fixtures? I think LED bulbs would be perfect, at least in the clear hanger fixtures, since they're so compact and energy-efficient.
