The Living Principles

October 12, 2009

The AIGA’s Center for Sustainable Design has just released their very well-crafted set of principles, which I hesitate to dub "sustainable design principles" only because in my mind, they’re just good sense. The Living Principles outline, for designers and creatives in every discipline, design’s impact, the four streams of integrated sustainability, and our opportunity and roadmap. This document isn’t just about doing what’s responsible, but being innovative, measuring our successes through impact, and working the four streams in mind: environmental protection, social equity, economic health, and cultural vitality. The Living Principles are intended to evolve through user interaction: they are meant to be adapted, applied, and used daily. Check out the history and read the full document here.
