VerTerra Plates Made From Fallen Leaves

September 15, 2009

It doesn’t get much more poetic than this: plates made from pressed fallen leaves (I’m sure there’s a good haiku in here somewhere). VerTerra’s newly refined line of dinnerware is literally made from fallen leaves that are pressed together using nothing more than heat and water. The plates are disposable, and yet their production is so elegantly minimal, that you may not mind the disposal, as they go straight into the compost bin requiring none of the commercial composting that PLA and corn-based plastics do. Check out their full line here.

Hmm, what haiku could I write? :) Along with what you mentioned, these plates are tough! I was surprised to find, with a bowl full of hot soup, it didn't budge. And they're priced low enough I don't feel like I have to choose between quality and value
