Mod Green Pod

September 30, 2009

Mod Green Pod
is a proud member of the Organic Trade Association (OTA). They follow the fiber standards set forth by the OTA and are working hard to support the slowly-but-surely-organizing Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

All of its fabrics are printed on 100% certified organic cotton grown in the United States. The company is helping revitalize (and make more green) the U.S. textile industry by also weaving and printing its product line domestically. Doing so also helps minimize the company’s carbon footprint by reducing energy expenditures on shipping. Non-toxic, low-impact printing pigments and dyes give Mod Green Pod’s fabrics rich, saturated color while remaining in compliance with strict GOTS standards. In accordance with GOTS, they do not use fabric protectors, color fast agents, stain resistant, wrinkle-free agents or fire retardants on their products, thereby assuring there are no dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde (wrinkle-free agents), PBDEs (flame retardents), or PFOA (i.e. Teflon/Scotchgard) off-gassing from its products.

Mod Green Pod’s vinyl-free wallpapers are back to the basics as well. They use water-based inks on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper and finish the product with a water-based glaze that can tolerate light wiping.

Check out the tote bags - one-of-a-kind and stylish, crafted from Mod Green Pod remnants and/or discontinued prints. Still 100% organic cotton with no nasty stuff added.
