Big Green

April 29, 2009

I belong to an email discussion group – Big Green – that focuses on the design and construction of sustainable large-scale projects. Members can post a message to the list about any relevant subject.

Today’s email included a discussion of how to determine the material value of an FSC certified wood product such as milled moldings. Big Green-ers responses raised some interesting points about chain of custody, LEED credit interpretation rulings and the differences between a manufactured product and one produced in a carpenter’s shop. It was a lively dialogue as are most of them.

Best of all, the Big Green Archives are searchable by thread, subject, author or date – all the way back to July 1999. Some of the green building community’s most respected experts participate. This is a valuable resource folks.
