Cash for (Furniture) Clunkers

Do you have a client with a really ugly sofa? Maybe you have one – we won’t tell. Do you live in the Phoenix area? Want to save money, keep stuff out of landfills and help others in need?
Pacific Furniture, a fourth generation to-the-trade high-end furniture company is promoting a win-win deal. Select or design any new furniture piece or mattress from Pacific’s line and take 10 percent off the price when you donate a “clunker.” You or your client will also receive a tax-deductible receipt for the donation, which will be delivered to a family in need. Pacific is partnering in this effort with Neighborhood Ministries, an organization that provides outreach and empowerment programs to the community, as well as with Miranda Delivery Services who will deliver the clunkers locally at no charge. The program expires on September 18th.
Good for these guys, and a special hat’s off to Pacific for coming up with the idea. Other companies? Other cities? Cash for furniture clunkers could work anywhere.
Kudos to Pacific as well for its environmental initiatives. Though not perfect the company is dedicated to pursuing environmentally responsible manufacturing and products and appears to be continuously improving its use of materials and procedures.
One more thing for the Phoenix designers: the local Fox news channel is going to run a story on the Cash For Clunker Furniture Program. Since Pacific does not sell to the public, they anticipate consumers will need an interior designer to help them participate. If you would like to be included in the referral program, please respond to this email address: designers@cashforclunkersfurniture.com. All referrals will be on a first sign-up basis by city.
