Armstrong's Green Genie

Green architects, interior designers, and specifiers—those dedicated to designing and constructing the most environmentally responsible buildings and interiors—need all the help they can get. The need to choose products that further the project’s goals has not diminished; the ability to do so in a timely and efficient manner, however, has become more complicated.
To help save time on green projects, Armstrong Ceilings has introduced the Green Genie, a new interactive, product evaluation web tool that allows users to find sustainable ceiling, wall, and suspension system options, as well as LEED credit information quickly and easily in two areas: calculate recycled content (MRc4.1, 4.2) and regional materials eligibility (MRc5.1, 5.2).
For the latter, enter your project’s zipcode and the calculator will verify that the extraction/harvest/recovery site for the product you choose is located within a 500-mile radius of the project site.
Armstrong has a broad portfolio of products with pre-/post-consumer recycled content. Enter your project details and the Green Genie will calculate recycled content values that contribute to earning the points.
“This resource was developed to provide an easy-to-access tool that can be used by our customers to not only identify environmentally sensitive products that meet their needs, but also to calculate the contribution of those products toward LEED credits,” states Joann Davis Brayman, vice president of marketing for commercial ceilings.
Green Genie is a fast 24/7 online tool works with all the commercial LEED rating systems, including those in Canada, and will even assist with the submittal process by producing a LEED documentation letter for inclusion in the specification.
It couldn’t be easier.
