3Form Dazzles

June 19, 2009

It’s hard to know where to begin with 3Form – it just keeps getting better and better. The additions to the product line I saw at NeoCon are dazzling.

The centerpiece of the 3Form exhibit space was a stunning light sculpture constructed from the company’s signature Varia Ecoresin and LED lamps. Light Art, as its known, is available as large, medium or small fixtures, each built to order. Check out the amazing installation at Saks 5th Avenue in Palm Beach.

Many of 3Form’s translucent materials can be backlit to dramatic effect like Trace Dune, a new natural stone pattern (pictured left above) and the new laser cut wood products, such as Flora on white oak, pictured here.

The latest incarnation of the Varia Ecoresin architectural panels features large-scale organics that add dramatic impact along with the product’s typical privacy and light transmission properties. Four patterns of natural landscapes are available. Highland. for example, is reminiscent of the dense grasses and field flowers of European Hills.

Another new introduction presents three new design patterns for Struttura, a lightweight material that utilizes innovative cellular technology with superior structural capabilities. Best of all, it’s now compatible with the 3form C3 color system, offering extensive customization with more than 10,000 color options and matching capabilities with Chroma, Pressed Glass and Varia Ecoresin.

3Form aggressively works to minimize its environmental impact. They call it their Path to Zero and commit to stop sending manufacturing waste to landfill in 2009; be carbon neutral by 2017; continue to increase the recycled content in their products; Greenguard certify all products; never use PVC; and support artisans and global communities.

Someday designers will wonder how we ever got along without 3Form. Maybe we already do.
