I’m Baaaaack!
After a prolonged absence I've returned and assumed my responsibility as the chronicler of Brokeback Manor. Last week I pretended that Mitch had the house in move-in condition and sent up some of my furniture. Not so very clever-- what a mess! Mitch's idea of cleaning up falls very short of mine; it was a disaster.
If a client had done what I did I would have told them they were crazy, and I was. It was a desperate move(in). So anxious am I to be in my house I was just an aspic short of planning a dinner party. ‘Tis a good thing I don't have precious furnishings or things would have been really bad. Some work had been done since my last visit but in the usual Contractor Mitch-style nothing was completely finished. In order to appreciate the few photos I have of yesterday's fiasco, one must imagine if you will, that there

is a tub standing beneath this floor spout;

is a faucet installed at this kitchen sink;

are two lights above this bathroom counter.
In addition one must let your imagination believe that:

this painter's light is a decorative floor lamp and the leaning lumber panels are early Louise Nevelsons.

that the non V.I.P guest room furniture is not standing on a concrete floor but a plush wall to wall.
This next picture was taken right after I explained to Ms. Biggs that dogs on the furniture would not be tolerated in the new house. Note the inner smile on her face!

We'll talk next week...

I read this email when it comes just to see your blog. Welcome back! I wondered if the house had finally done you in. It is looking great! I am sure Ms. Biggs will be quite comfortable there.

Although this was painful to read, I couldn't help but see where you're heading, and it's going to be worth it once you wean yourself off the meds...I LOVE your taste. The views are, well, beyond description. Congratulations in advance.
