HAPPY HOLIDAYS

December 29, 2010

Finally a blog that actually contains something new. Get Real Surfaces have finished and sealed the concrete floor, the floor that has been covered for over a year. What Mitch had assured me, that the floor would be fine, proved not to be true. Between the settling of the house (who would have thought that the house would have settled in before I did) and the fact that the floor had been covered for so long with condensation accumulating, there was plenty of work that had to be done. They are looking great and hopefully by the end of the week, just in time to not put up a Christmas tree, I will have a finished floor.

I have become Mr. Take Charge, Instead of waiting for Mitch to finish his is steel work and get around to his other responsibilities I am bringing in my own people to do some of what is really in his contract. Penny wise, pound foolish as they say. Remember Murphy Brown and her painter? If you're ever over for dinner and there is a strange man walking around with helmet and blowtorch, meet G.C. Mitch. I don't know if I should read into this but he has been reported spending time at the Hudson Tax Bureau filing for resident tax status.

I have been thinking of using a color datum in the house. When I saw the plastic tarp they put on to protect the walls I definitely decided to do so. I love the way it looks, and it helps take away the Chelsea Gallery look so inappropriate for a house with so few walls and an occupant with so little art to hang.

Happy Holidays Everyone.
