Girl wins BoY

"Girl wins BoY"--yeah, thats me! I was lucky when I "won" Jaime (my sweet husband that is) and this year I got lucky again and won another type of BoY: the Interior Design Best of Year award in the Urban Residential category. We are a small team of focused enthusiastic designers daring to design where no one has designed before. We are in great company and being able to sit and view all the projects which were nominated made for a very exciting evening. I feel insanely honored to have received this award and just because I can (the benefits of writing a blog) ;-) I am going to give a little thank you speech blog.

In no particular order of importance but truly heartfelt ...

To Cindy Allen: thank you for seeing something in me 10 years ago. You have continued to push me hard and have always supported me. The reason I have a wonderful group of friends and colleagues in this industry is because you always share the love. I love you my Cindy Bindy!

To my brilliant client and very good friend Paige West: thank you for being my design "sister." We share design dna, baby, and nothing I say will ever be enough to show my gratitude so I'll just keep on designing for you and we will keep on smiling and having fun, ok?

To Vané Broussard who has worked with me for the past four and a half years. An incredible designer who knows my clients better than I do (which is tremendously helpful) and works tirelessly to get the job done. You are awesome and insanely talented and I am lucky to work with you!

To Jaime Viñas my best friend, design collaborator, supporter, husband, and father of my beautiful girls: you get to put up with the best and worst of me. Lucky you ;-) I adore you.

To Chris Kerr: my confidant and friend who introduced me to Paige 10 years ago and suggested we work together...somethings in life one can never repay!

I could go on but the music is starting to play and my voice is being drowned out and the sexy lady with the silky black dress is leading me off the stage...
