Raw Edges

I feel like I just emerged from under a rock. How on earth was I not aware of Raw Edges? Yes, I have been fascinated and in love with their stacked drawers for Established & Sons and was equally delighted by their Pivot cabinet for Arco, but I'm really not sure why I have not been paying attention properly because I did not know these two designers by name. I was in one of my favorite SoHo stores, Cappellini, last week and was reminded how fascinating the tailored wood stool is and I thought that I should find out something about the designers. I had no idea that all three of these designs were from the same design duo. Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay are just pure brilliance. They have won all kinds of design awards since graduating not so long ago in 2006 from the Royal College of Art. Rest assured, I will be keeping a very close eye on these two from now on.
