Act of God

According to Contractor Mitch, there is the possibility of a hurricane, or at least the effects of one coming up the coast this weekend. Now I haven't heard of it but it seems to have motivated him to seal up the house this week. Who am I to question his weather forecasting? Let's see if it's really going to happen. This should mean that those windows that have laid half caulked should be fully sealed and the doors should have working hardware as in "just insert the key and turn the handle." God bless Mother Nature; I never realized that all it would take to finish the house was an act of God.

The relationship between me and Mitch has taken a turn south. It's been that way for a while but it has accelerated lately. I remember last October when Joan and I asked him if I would be in the house for my first Thanksgiving. And I quote, "if not quite in, you will be pleasantly surprised at just how close you will be to moving in." Okay, he was off a little, like about a year. Here it is September and I'm still not pleasantly surprised, as a matter of fact I am down right furious. If I am in by this Thanksgiving, guess who will not be sitting at my dining table!

In order to get things moving along, I am having my Henry Built kitchen cabinets delivered next week. They've only been ready for about a year and a half. Mitch assures me he will be ready for them and who am I to argue with someone who has been so accurate in terms of timing?
