Copacabana by Jaime Hayon

August 29, 2010

copacabana by Jaime HayonIf you know me relatively well, you probably know that I have a list of about five words that I just cannot stand--descriptive words having nothing to do with design...just general words I dislike.

There is only one design-related word that just always sounded a bit vulgar to me: sconce. For me, it's one of the dirty words in design. Don't try and look into this any further or ask for an explanation because I know it makes no sense. It's simply an idiosyncrasy I sport.

So lets just call the Copacana, by the super-talented Jaime Hayon, a beautiful "wall-mounted light fixture" for Metalarte and admire all its simple beauty. Available in black and white all the way from Spain. Got to love those Spaniards!

I hear that you have to be cufarel when buniyg gear by Fritz Hansen as there are an awful lot of fakes floating around. Then again i appreciate it purely for the aesthetic so i wouldn't care if i came across a fake, although obviously wouldn't want to pay the exorbitant price
