Frans Piek at Pols Potten

Now that I have been blogging for a while, you might come to expect that around this time of year I am just getting back from my annual trek to The Netherlands, and, with that, you'll probably be subjected to some finds from abroad.

One of my favorite Amsterdam stores is Pols Potten on KNSM island and when I was in the store last year I met stylist Frans Piek. This year, when I saw the exhibition at the back of the store, it did not take long for me to guess this was Frans's work. This is the first artist to show in Pols Potten gallery and a very good start it is.

The name of the show is "Is it me you are looking for?" and in it he transforms ordinary objects into extraordinary pieces. The new unexpected colors given to the pieces give them a completely new life. It's just totally fun to see everyday objects taped and sprayed and bound together in these curious glass boxes.

If I am the only one is the world that is taken by this work it would totally make sense because I secretly think that Frans made these just for me.

Hey Duke - as I said ..."If I am the only one is the world that is taken by this work it would totally make sense because I secretly think that Frans made these just for me."
