“Hey Pops, Wanna Sit Down?”

August 18, 2010

Finally, new pictures! In the last week, there has been progress up at the Manor. Okay not that much progress, but progress still the same. Firstly, there is a completed wall in the powder room. Since there is only one tiled wall in the room we could actually check off powder room tiling. The two guest bedrooms have had their floor tiles installed and are awaiting grouting instructions. Mitch likes to offer directives like "get me the grout colors ASAP" to make it sound like they are finishing up. I haven't checked my drawings lately but I do believe there is also tile on the wall. I'm not going to be cynical, just happy that there is a step forward. I was hoping to see the entry lanterns installed but that didn't happen so he had to hold them up for me. This way you not only get to see the new lighting but also a chance to see the new "trimmed down Mitch" after his 30 pound weight loss--must be standing in for his crew of three men that did the trick.

I will be there this week and hopefully return with an album of new snapshots. This week's blog will have to be a short one as I am recovering from a very traumatic event that happened to me this weekend. I was riding the subway to meet a friend downtown when a young man of about twelve got up and offered me his seat. I of course thanked him, told him how refreshing it was to see a young man with such great manners and then punched him in the stomach. It was all I could do to not get off, head toward the nearest drug store, and purchase of bottle of Grecian-formula hair dye.

It could have been worse, I'm pretty sure the doctor I saw last week was his 14 year old brother and other lies we tell ourselves.

Stunning house! I've been renoing a place we now call Pandora's house for 8 months so I feel your pain.
