Special on Marble Tiles
With the Lord as my witness, I swear to never spend another summer without my house. Furthermore I decree that I will celebrate my birthday in my house and that this celebration will be a combination birthday, housewarming, and Labor Day fete. It will be the opening of the Brokeback Mountain social season. It will be up there with Vanity Fair's Academy Award Party, the Metropolitan's Costume Institute Gala, the opening of the Met's Opera Season, and Puff Daddy's annual Hamptons party. Who knows, Hudson may become what Newport was in the 19th century. Of course this all depends on Contractor Mitch.
I know this is a heavy responsibility for one man but someone has to bear it. Yes, it's up to you Mitch. The future of Brokeback Mountain and maybe the fate of Hudson itself is in your hands. But please don't feel too pressured--perhaps there is a mayorship in your future.
I want you all to know that I have made an MDD (monumental design decision). V.I.P. cousin Lennie confirmed my doubts about the marble wall in the dining area. Sometimes what looks good in a drawing isn't the same in reality. It's very important to trust one's initial reaction--I had my doubts as soon as I saw what was the beginning of the marble wall. The only wall to be marble-clad will be the wall behind the kitchen. Anyone out there interested in 12x24-inch Calcutta Gold tiles? I know where you can get them at a good price.
