Tom Dixon

May 23, 2010

British designer Tom Dixon does not disappoint—at least I’m never disappointed. I was genuinely thrilled with his multiple booths this year at ICFF. The arrangement of furniture was simple graphic and cohesive. He adds a fun element to his installations by stacking his furniture (I am guessing that this is the brilliance of studio toogood). He kept it simple sticking with black, white, and a delicious fluorescent red color. This fluorescent red is topping my charts right now as a fav new color. Keeping it this graphic one could concentrate on the beautiful form of his pieces, especially the slab tables and benches which have such delightfully curved legs.

After recovering from my love for the fluorescent red, I was excited to see the reintroduction of the Jack light which I have formerly had to find on eBay or at auction since Tom stopped producing it.

So for me, it’s all good from Tom Dixon this year.
