The End is Near
Everyone can rest easier now, I have officially declared the recession ending and things are starting to turn around. This proclamation will most likely result in the stock market making huge gains, hence I am always hesitant to make public my economic forecasts. Yes, many people do not know this, but I am consulted usually once or twice a week by the President’s Economic Council (like I have time for this!). All signs are pointing to a recovery. You know what they say in Washington, as Siskin Valls goes, so does the U.S. economy, and business is picking up here on 58th Street.

Just as the phones were starting to develop cobwebs, I had a call from a new potential client. Now it’s not that I have no work, but they are all old clients doing new projects. Out of the blue came a call from someone who has had their project on hold, but has recently decided to forge ahead. I have interpreted this as a sign from the gods. Whether I get the job or not is irrelevant, people are starting to have confidence; not only in the economy, but in my decorative abilities. Sing hallelujah!

But before we all run out and buy, re-do, or enlarge, let’s remember how we got into this mess in the first place. I personally am not going to put that turret on my house, nor buy up the rest of Brokeback Mountain, nor turn in my MetroCard in for a stretch limo, nor trade in my dog Ms. Biggs for an A.K.C. pedigree. Slow and steady!
