Endless Summer

September 9, 2009

Summer’s coming to a close and hopefully this will be the last one spent without my house. Now if all goes according to plan (we all know how that always works out), I will be moving in this coming fall season. I will be positive and plan for a Brokeback Manor Thanksgiving feast. The wild turkey Biggs spotted and chased last week was perhaps an omen.

I am going tomorrow to try out more colors of the steel. I am on my 15th color and still not happy with any of them. The stucco color was easier. It’s going to remain the dark color. Landscaping is still rather a mystery, but I am getting closer to knowing what I want. Wildflowers and grass is what I keep gravitating to. It’s not only that I like the look of them, but I think it will be perfect with the existing foliage. The low maintenance factor doesn’t hurt either. It’s time to start my research, so if anyone out there knows of any great books on the subject, please let me know. Or for that matter, if you know of any landscape people who work in that area, I would appreciate a name.

Off again to check on the progress. Rumor has it that there might be the beginnings of a fireplace. Don’t be too excited, it’s only a rumor. Whatever there is, I will report and document next week. Meanwhile here are some recent snaps.
