Visual Banquet

May 13, 2009

Monday night I attended an Alpha Workshop event (in case you were wondering where I was that night) where Cindy Allen received an honorary award for her contribution to this great organization. It was the largest crowd ever for the annual event, and when you hear Cindy speak, you understand why. I don’t think there is anyone in this industry who is loved as much as this woman. She is so genuinely caring and warm and, yes, she does happen to put out a great magazine. Congratulations Cindy! Could you please run for something so I can be your campaign manager?

Back to the topic I was hired to blog about, the construction of my house. Let’s talk about all the progress contractor Mitch is making. Okay that’s done. Now let’s go on to the landscaping. Maybe next week I will have something to report; I have a tentative appointment with a local landscaper and we will “walk the property” (I just love to say that!). I’d love to do it on horseback, but that would be about five steps forward and five back, and I don’t think you can cantor up the Taconic Highway. Photographer cousin Lynn refuses to shoot the house with those ugly plastic tarps covering the windows so I don’t have any visual aids for this blog.

I will definitely bring my camera this weekend and even if I have to photograph someone else’s house I will bring back pictures. My dog is very photogenic—maybe some pictures of her playing in her soon-to-be yard. Cousin Lynn is beautiful. She will make a lovely study of “woman with camera photographing a construction site.” And it’s been a while since you have seen my car, how about a few snaps of some new nicks and dents. Yes, next week should be a visual feast. Check in for the banquet.

Wow! You're going to "walk the property." That sounds awesome! Makes it sound like the house is ready or almost ready!
