Expert Analysis

October 14, 2008

I told G.C. Mitch that he has to move with more haste on the house. I told him that I’m running out of things to say in my blog.  I was there this week and little has happened since the last visit.  How much can one elaborate on plumbing lines?  True, he has brought in the electrical wiring, but I’m sure that that won’t keep my readers on the edge of their seats. A very boring phase indeed!

Good thing the world’s economy is falling apart, because what else would there be to talk about?  Now that Sarah Palin (and not Tina Fey) is to play herself on SNL, the only fun thing about this election has ended (as if laughing at herself will make her any less ridiculous).  The idea of choosing someone as inexperienced and non-worldly as this woman just to get votes has luckily seemed to backfire on Mr. McCain.  Hopefully, there is a Viagra spokesperson position open.  Move over Bob Dole.

Okay, no more politics for a while—on to the economy.  As soon as someone gives me an explanation (Economics for Morons) of the current crisis, and I think I understand, someone else comes along and gives me another that throws me off.  My conclusion, after much study and careful evaluation, is that the true culprits were the predatory mortgage lenders.  Now that I’ve solved that, I can begin to work on the solution, but give me some time.

Speaking of the economy, I don’t think that I’ve really acknowledged, until now, just how affected everyone is. Besides the obvious slowdown in terms of business, savings, etc., the entire climate created by this crisis has affected everyone’s mood.  Friends of mine who work and are generally positive and up-spirited (medicated or not) talk of nothing but gloom and doom.  So far, very few have experienced any direct effect, but there is definitely a kind of taupe pallor over everything.

Before I go on and on about subjects that I’m not really suppose to be going on and on about, let me end it here.  This will be a short blog as there is little house news to talk about.  I will be there this weekend and will come back hopefully with news tidbits and new pictures.

Hi Brendan,Your photographs have truly blown us away. Thank you for rputacing the essence of our wedding day and giving to us the wonderful memories we will now have for life. It was a pleasure to have your company. You, PJ and Clodagh brought the fun factor with your fresh and creative approach to wedding photography. We really appreciate the long hours and detours to nursing homes; as a result we have the most amazing collection of photography’s. I really love how you captured our guests, their reactions and facial expressions, as the bride and groom you don’t always see what is going on around you.Thank you for putting together the wonderful slide show which we have watched countless times, we have also sent it to all our family and friends and the feedback is unreal. Your work has exceeded our exceptions without a doubt and we can’t wait to create the album with you.Thank you so much.Linda and David

Sounds like you had a great experience, Andy. It's lyawas nice to hear that nature photography can actually be enjoyable and comfortable. You've shown you don't lyawas have to wedge yourself into a muddy hole for n days and endure frostbite in order to create. If photographers want people to take an interest in the stories behind their work, I think this sort of tale would be work very well. Couple it with a call to action, where appropriate and all of a sudden new dimensions appear. The first image is great.ChrisPS More snow by the end of the week d'ya think?
