Paul Siskin Bunyan
Up to Hudson Sunday, camera in hand, ready to document progress and…back to New York, camera still in hand, no progress to document. Okay, there were a few new metal studs where walls will be, but that’s about it. I had asked that the fireplace opening be covered with a tarp so I could see the room without a full wall of glass windows. It wasn’t done, but even without it I had already decided to keep the fireplace and chimney the way I had planned originally—smack in the middle of my view. Yes that will be me in the back yard, plaid jacket and ax, cutting timber for firewood, very Paul Bunyan-esque.

Now according to contractor Mitch, I should be moving into my house this December. If I’m not mistaken, that would be the week after next. I don’t think that is going to happen. The only thing that could be happening up on Brokeback this December would be an outreach meeting in my living room. Kum-Ba-Yah ya’all, which means in Gullah, come by here.

Sorry it’s such a short post this week, but little progress means little to talk about. I could show you some more views of the site and view, but I think you’ve seen enough. The next big thing will be the installation of the 12-foot windows and 10-foot doors. Even without glass that will be picture to behold. Can’t wait! A little nervous about these steel and glass doors of 10 feet. “It’s getting a little cold in here. Can someone please give me a hand? I want to shut the door.”
