More Mitch Complaints
A whirlwind of activity was not the phrase Kitty Hawks used when she arrived Thursday at Brokeback Manor. I mean just how much activity can there be with one person on the job? Contractor Mitch was without his crew (of one). It seems that the crew, Keith, could not make it that week. When we arrived Mitch was standing over one of my new, not completely installed windows, which had fallen and shattered. So deep in thought was he that he barely heard us coming. It was not the best day to visit the Manor.
This is why there are no new photos to share. It was one of those “all the progress done was behind the sheet rock” weeks. I can only imagine what goes on between those plaster board surfaces. Maybe had I used only plaster walls the place would be done. One can only wonder! When I left that afternoon Mitch had promised me a full crew the coming week. When I called this afternoon, Mitch was still at his home upstate due to some personal matters. Somehow I had a feeling that Mitch was not up there hammering and sawing away solo.
The goal of my visit with Kitty was to come up with an overall plan for landscaping. Her knowledge of plants, her natural good taste and style, easily qualifies her. My reservation, however, is hiring a good friend to work with me. Of course, as I say that I realize that architect Joan was and is still a good friend, but there is always the risk of finally finishing the house and having no friends to fill it. Dilemma! Dilemma! Dilemma!
