Golden Find in Pennsylvania

I spent 10 deliciously relaxing days at our house in Buck county, Pennsylvania over Christmas and New Years. I started every single day with an hour-long bubble bath. Life does not get any better than that. My re-enameled clawfoot bathtub is right at my bathroom window which overlooks my neighbors pastures with only the branches of the old apple tree slightly blocking my view. Although I spent most of my time in my cosy house, I did venture out a couple of times with my New York friends who were staying with us, once to the Crayola factory and the other time to Philadelphia to check out Marcel Wanders’s exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (well worth the trip; a small show but it packs a lot of Wanders punch).

While in Philadelphia we swung by a couple of vintage stores on North Third street. I found this incredible gold colored leaf plate. I think it is bronze-plated aluminum. It’s really the scale of it that makes it remarkable; it’s big, about 15 inches wide. I bought it from Reform but the owner was not sure 100 percent about its origin. Whoever made it, its beautiful. If anyone can shed some light on this golden beauty, feel free.
