Dune Party

July 11, 2009

One of my favorite stores in New York is Dune. I like the aesthetic of what owner and designer Richard Shemtov wraps up into a store. The furniture is young modern and hip–my kinda place. Having called Tribeca home for the past nine years they felt like a move to SoHo would be a good thing, so now they are perfectly located in the downtown furniture design mosh pit–right where it all happens.

Their beautiful spacious new showroom displays their furniture lines beautifully even if it is a smidge smaller than their previous space. To get the new showroom started, Dune kicked off with a fun party a week or so ago. Richard had the walls of the showroom lined with art by Koosuke Ikeda (incredibly fun graphic stuff–like I needed another obsession). His work is stunning. Thanks for a fun party Richard and best of luck to Dune in their new home at 156 Wooster Street.
