Come On Now People, Work With Me Here!

February 28, 2010

I can only speak for myself, but I am sure other bloggers will agree that writing a blog is fun; not getting comments, not so fun. It’s like talking to yourself for goodness sake, and how much fun is that? Fellow blogger Thomas Jayne once got 27 comments on one post named "A reflection on Verre Eglomisé."  TWENTY SEVEN COMMENTS! I am green with envy—you bet! Sure it was a fantastic post, but I think its time for Thomas to pass the torch. I am ready to take the lead in the "Most Commented on" column that Thomas has been holding on to for some time now.  Come on people, work with me here, will you? Leave a comment about…well anything really. Just let me know you are out there.

Ghislaine, It is so wonderful to now get your blog updates and to see your work. I've been forwarding them to Jenai as well. She is in an AP Art History class and is just learning about a Dutch Style of Design/Architecture Style that I'm sure you know and I in my ignorance can't remember the name of. But anyway... keep up the great work and thanks for putting yourself and your amazing style out there for us to see.

Good Morning Ghislaine: I love blogs and read yours (and others) regularly... Honestly, I believe we're all so busy scanning for new news and gleaning information we DON'T reply or post comments often enough. Plus we're all chasing Twitter Feeds, and probably don't do enough Re-Tweeting! Thanks for the reminder, and know we appreciate everything you've been writing/blogging!

is this cheating? but really I am responding to Jayne who is asking for minimal floating shelves - budget? ikea has lack shelves which are superminimal otherwise custom is usually a good option for this. The wall attachment is always the tricky part.

Yeah, hey, um... I'm not much for responding to blogs, much less one on interior design, but you do light my fire, baby... I was wondering if you could come out West to redesign my mid-century chic Airstream. I was kinda hoping you could do like a 60's swingers' rumpus room crossed with Graceland's jungle room--maybe with a chandelier made of deer hooves and rainbow trout fisheads to give it an element of authenticity... obviously it would be in your hands but I really groove that we are on the same wavelength, if you catch my drift.

I don't think that the live white tigers you got for me to use as movable end-tables are going to work so well... I spilled some red wine on one of them and I don't know how to get out the stain without her trying to claw me! We should have gone for the faux-banyan stumps! Live and learn...

You looked so good in that picture in the NY Times... I wish I could look that amazing... imagine me with flowing blond hair. So much for me, this really is about YOU. I think you would look great with a beautiful turquoise eye shadow and lipstick... You are truly amazing, Ghislaine... you have a large and faithful fan-club here in Atlanta. Much love to you...

Very impressive article in the NYT. I have to admit that I have a very special place in my heart for turquoise... when I was a child, the first phone I ever had was a turquoise rotary dial PRINCESS phone... how prescient on the part of my parents! Oddly enough while looking at the picture of the lamp you were holding, my father in Oregon thought it looked like a very unusual personal pleasure device... he asked me on the phone, what in God's name is that thing she is holding? Obviously he needs new glasses (or just to clean the ones he already has) and I exclaimed immediately that it was a very chic lamp... oh, well. Congrats on all of your successes and charms, pussycat--you deserve them!

While this is my first time to your blog, and I have neither met you nor seen your work before, I must say that I am really impressed with both the beauty of your design as well as your personal physical beauty. As someone who care little for 'inner-beauty' my happiness relies entirely on physical appearance - and your work leave me sated to the core.

Ghislaine, fantastic work finding two chairs with the appropriate numerals. I suspect the company makes a whole set zero through nine? If so, then I'd like to suggest that they create a special addition to their line starting at ten (10) that would accomodate large-boned individuals and others of advanced proportions. And besides, it solves the rather awkward problem when one has a table seating for twelve.

I found you through Brooklyn Bride on twitter, and these chairs are fun! I think they'd be a neat idea for 4-tops at restaurants with a 4 digit address, or if the numbers were reversed they'd be neat for a waiting area in a city building, with the zipcode. Good luck with the rest of the comments! dashpinchsmidgen.blogspot.com
