Pollack Fabrics
Vané (my assistant) and I went over to the Decoration & Design building today to find some fabrics for a townhouse project we are doing in TriBeCa; we had to find some simple charcoal fabric for a sofa. We did the usual rounds at Kravet, Holland and Sherry, Maharam, Schumacher, and Osborne and Little and found some really great fabrics, but the standout for me was Pollack and, specifically, Création Baumann. Création Baumann is definitely one of my very favorite fabric lines. They always amaze me with their simple but incredibly innovative fabrics and they offer beautifully vibrant colors–topping it off with impeccable quality. I found an amazing smocked wool felt fabric which is available in panels. The smocking creates an architectural, three-dimensional pattern in the fabric. It reminds me of Erwin Hauer’s amazing screens (just look on the cover of this months Interior Design). This fabric comes in about five colors, but this citrus yellow stole my heart. Vané snapped this picture of me looking adoringly at this fabric.

Another incredible 3-D fabric from Création Baumann.

This is very typical of their color palette - it just doesnt get any better than this! A gorgeous perforated fabric that I want to use soon.

Reversible, perforated fabric in amazing color choices. The back and front are different colors, which creates a cool, hip effect–another one I can’t wait to use.
