Ikea Fabrics

I just received a holiday newsletter from Vincente Wolf. He said, "2008 has been a benchmark year for all of us. We started it with excess and we’re ending it with a recess, which is going to alter our design direction. Minimal is no longer going to be the lack of, but rather the way of, but it will only hone our talent and bring our best foot forward."

It just so happens that I took my first trip out to the new Ikea in Redhook this week. My design assistant Vané and I ended up spending 5 hours there. I wont go into details, but the time really flew (meatballs for lunch and great Christmas decorations were definitely a distraction). Maybe we would have done this faster if we would have put our "best foot" forward, but that is not really my point. I rather wanted to point out that Ikea has wonderful graphic fabrics for ridiculously low prices. So if it’s in your nature to be bold, bright, and budget-conscious I see a trip to Ikea in your future.
