Budget Buys

October 9, 2008

Eight years ago it was almost impossible to buy hip modern furniture on a budget (ok, except for IKEA–which, by the way, I love). Since then we have all discovered eBay, CB2, West Elm, Anthropologie, and Urban Outfitters. And today, if you are good at selecting and editing carefully, you can really put together some incredible rooms.

I think Anthropologie is fantastic! They have really fun and bold upholstered pieces. With prints from Josef Frank and Ilse Crawford, these fabrics would turn any mundane sofa or chair into a showstopper. I am not a big print fan, but I will take Josef Frank or Ilse Crawford’s prints anyday; and this sofa is only $3,498–not too shabby, huh?
