Noisy Neighbors?

October 17, 2009

Here is a really good idea for city dwellers dealing with pesky neighbors. When I first saw this piece, I thought, "wow, how striking," and then I was even more delighted when I read on to find out that Studio Lawrence created this piece as an aesthetic solution to acoustic problems. They were approached by the Design London’s Museum for an acoustic problem they were experiencing. It is a really clever and simple system that they devised: steel rail, 100 percent German wool felt strips and nine colors to choose from. There is also a double-side rail which enables one to use it as a partition with the home or to separate workspaces.

Ghislaine, so glad you loved this piece! Thanks so much. Just to keep you updated - a spectacular 6.3m x 6.3m composition of Along These Lines is currently hanging in the new Desque showroom in Eindhoven which was commissioned for Dutch Design Week. Take a peek at our twitter where we've posted a sneak preview image - twitter.com/StudioLawrence Thanks once again!
