I happen to love television. There are so many wonderful mindless shows to get sucked into after a day of meetings with clients and contractors, staring at fabric samples, and shopping at the D&D. But, on Sunday after a weekend of fun, I have no excuse for needing "fluff" TV.

By Sunday, I am usually ready to get my head back into design again, and Mad Men just happens to be the perfect way to do this. Of course, I feast my eyes on Don Draper, the chain smoking, philandering, sexiest-man-alive character who plays a Madison Avenue advertising executive. I could go on and on about him, but I will leave it at that since I am here to blog about "all things relating to interiors."

This show happens to boast perfectly re-created sets, full of accurate 1960’s interiors. The office interiors are some of my favorites. I love the colored office doors and all the Knoll furniture. And I love Don Draper’s bedroom, with that sexy tufted headboard (so Dorothy Draper). The show’s intro is equally fabulous and well designed. There really is nothing about this show that I dont love!

Loved how the Rothko painting in Mr. Cooper's office brought in such excitement. His office is really quite timeless and sophisticated with its mixture of traditional Asian and Modern American Art and furnishings. I also loved how the Eames, Time Life Chair still looks fresh and so "New York"..

I am addicted to Mad Men! I love its psychological approach and odd twists. The sets are great! It's so fun to study the homes and offices. Pete's apartment is hip! I love the gold paint behind the bookshelves and Nakashima style dining chairs! The downstairs in Don's house is pretty dowdy though, which is kind of surprising given how stylish he and Betty are... hate the brown plaid wallpaper in the kitchen and the paneled den... It does look accurate for the burbs though. Thanks for posting about it!!!
