Pantone's Color of the Year

December 21, 2009

Many of you may not realize, but, just like actors, musicians, designers, and architects—a premptive "Best of Year" award is also bestowed on color. The folks who decide this? Pantone of course. This year the prize went to—wait for it—Turquoise 15-5519! An amazing winning color, and well deserved—I believe—especially since it’s been on my top ten list of colors for a while.

When I think of this color in interiors, I have to say that one only designer comes to mind:  India Mahdavi. She is a design goddess and I am in awe of her work. So without any further ado, I present the super talented 2010 Pantone Color of the Year Winner, Turquoise 15- 5519 in action with set design by India Mahdavi. Congratulations Turquoise, and bravo India! Nobody can rock this color like you do!

Ah, man, these are fun! A very neat idea to mix up the new with the classical. And I admit that when I first saw the photo of the inantipg with a small play arrow, I thought it might be a video clip maybe some surrealistic vid with the inantipgs falling like dominoes. Cool!

This color lights up the spaces, is important to mention that this pictures are from a very cute boutique Hotel in Mexico City, Condesa DF. All the look inside of the hotel is very chic...
