Droog Field Trip

June 13, 2009

Last week my designers and I decided it would do us all a lot of good to get out of the office and have a fun shopping trip in SoHo. After hitting the ice cream truck, we headed to a couple of design hotspots including Droog’s new showroom.

My favorite piece? This sculptural pink pile-up of discarded and second-hand furniture and objects by Maarten Baas and Franck Bragigand. The entire sculptural pile up was dipped in resin and then painted incredibly beautifully. Just to let you know, if I had a money tree growing in my apartment, I would pick about $32,000 from it, put it in a paper bag and waltz right into Droog to snap it up! This is an edition of 8, and all of them are different colors (by the way, the pink and green ones are the best).
