In Honor of the European World Cup Winners, A Little Something About Spain

July 9, 2008

Last year, thanks to an introduction through Cindy Allen (Miss Cindy  loves connecting people!) I was able to take an amazingly wonderful tour of 5 cities in Spain.  Starting in Madrid we travelled to Bilbao, La Rioja, Vitoria, and  Pamplona (I gained about 7 pounds in 7 days!!!! ).  We were introduced to Spanish design in the contract furniture sector and got to meet a lot of wonderful people and see wonderful Spanish products.  ( Did I mention that we ate a lot of delicious food and drank a lot of delicious wine?)  Mikel Orbel who heads Design in Spain here in NYC was our fabulous guide.  The reason for this long story is that I was absolutely blown away by the Madrid Barajas International Airport which was designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers.
