Thank You Hanne (and Angus)

About one and a half years ago, my good friend Hanne said that she was thinking of buying an apartment in Tribeca. She and her husband Angus saw one apartment and bought it. I suggested they might look at others to see what else is on the market, but they did not see the need. I love that about these Aussies–they make up their mind and stick to what they have decided. So when we decided that the apartment needed to be demo’ed, and that we needed to start from scratch, we decided that the open kitchen in this loft should be white. But we also decided that the backsplash–or splashback as the Aussies like to say… they also say benchtop instead of countertop–should be hot pink to match the bright pink streak in Hanne’s hair.

I love it!!! I love this kitchen with its hot pink "splashback" and concrete "benchtop." Thanks, Hanne, for being such an inspiring client and good friend, and thanks, Angus, for paying all the bills and being secure enough in your masculinity to live in a loft with a bright pink kitchen!
