Voos Furniture and UMproject
My friend Serap Demirag recently opened a store called Voos in Brooklyn. It’s a wonderful store and owned by a beautiful wonderful free-spirited woman. I met Serap many years ago when she first came to this country from her native Turkey. She spoke a delicious "Turkey-English" and, still today, her lovely accent, although very diluted since those days, puts a song in her speech. What is great about the store is that it is somewhat of a gallery for local Brooklyn designers.
I am particularly fond of one of the designer’s work she carries in her store. His name is Francois Chambard of UMproject. Here is his description of the tables "Playful multipurpose table and bench. Available in a variety of wood and colors. Great outdoor and indoor piece. Individual components can be purchased separately upon request. For example, the middle bench is a great midsize coffee table; the large bench is a great communal table or playtable."

I could not agree more–very clever and very fun. Look at the milking stools, too. They make me want to get a cow and start milking in style. ![]()
