Hallie Burton

I remember once hearing Cindy Allen talking to a group of young designers. She gave them a piece of very sound advice: "invest in a good photographer to photograph your work." Don’t get your friend’s sister or great aunt’s brother who dabbles in photography to shoot your work, but rather see capturing the interior you designed on film as an investment. If you are really interested in being published, its important to have great shots.

I have worked with quite a few photographers whom I have hired for different reasons and I intend on sharing all of them with you, but just one at a time. Today is all about the talented Australian, New York-based photographer Hallie Burton. Hallie is a wonderful petite redhead who is not only an absolute pleasure to work with, she has a magical eye when it comes to capturing interiors. What I like best about the way she shoots is that she makes her shots feel like home. There is an intimacy in her work, yet it is still thoroughly modern and crisp. Here is some of my interior work seen through Hallie’s lens.
