Vignettes in My House

June 1, 2009

I have areas in my home that are really special to me. These spaces have collections of things that just kind of happened there. Shown here is one of my favorite vignettes from my loft. I think these pieces might have gravitated toward each other all by themselves or I might have moved them there; I cant really remember.

The painting was given to me by my good friend and fabulous client Paige for my 40th birthday. I almost fainted when she gave it to me. She is insanely generous and kind and this painting makes me so happy! It’s by one of my favorite artists Leah Tinari from Paige’s gallery in Chelsea, Mixed Greens. The bunny is also a gift from amazingly fantastic clients who brought it back all the way from New Zealand for me. The cat is one of my favorite objects, too; my husband Jaime and I bought it at a little gallery in London. The artist is Benedetta Mori Ubaldini. I have included some other examples of her absolutely delightful work. I feel insanely lucky to own a piece of hers.

Finally, the little "Err on the side of awesome" cross-stitch was made by Vanessa Holden who has to be on the top of my charts as the "creative goddesses of the universe."
