Crasset and Halley for Ropac Gallery

In 2007, Matali Crasset and Peter Halley collaborated on an installation at the Ropac Gallery in Paris. Matali designed four exclusive edition  pieces for this project. I found this post on Dezeen, the online architecture and design magazine, and was immediately taken in by this project. I just adore this woman’s work. She infuses color into her work in a way that makes her very unique. But it’s not just the color, it’s the form too. Somehow even though a lot of her work looks different there is always that identifying look that makes it fun and quirky and just a bit deliciously awkward. This is what she said about color in an interview with Jeff Rian:

"For myself, I think of color as a common language. I try to break existing color codes, which can allow people to understand what I’m doing. Color allows me to give a different logic to a space; not just for the eyes, but for the emotions—an emotion generated by the combinations of colors and how they are imprinted on our memory. Some colors seem more spiritual, some more fun."
