A Day in the City

October 3, 2008

This weekend we decided to stay around the city instead of heading out to the country. It was a rainy weekend, but my husband, Jaime, and I decided to make the best of it. First out to Secaucus, New Jersey for the DWR annex sale. Mmmmm, not sure who would buy an Eames managerial desk chair with a completely snapped frame for $399. At the end of the day, a broken chair is a broken chair!

But the girls were happy enough trying out and nesting in some of the chairs, and we were happy to go back home under the tunnel empty handed.

Then off to SoHo for lunch at Delicatessen–a great vibe and delicious food. While waiting for our table, I popped into Paula Rubenstein, an antique store that has an incredibly curated collection of funiture and odds and ends. I think it’s one of my favorite antique stores.

After lunch, we were going to head up to the Museum of Arts and Design, but decided just to stay downtown and enjoy the misty wet weather and do some shopping around SoHo, Nolita, and the Lower East Side. We ended the day at De La Espada where Mia Soleil looked as cute as a button resting on some beautiful wooden stools.
