NYIGF Accent on Design

February 2, 2009

Last week I did my rounds at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF)–specifically Accent on Design. Here are some designs that caught my eye…

Left: This beautiful pendant light called Solis is from Pablo. It comes in three sizes. I am itching to use these as bedside lights. Right: This clever vessel that Wabnitz Editions had on display is actually a number of different shaped bowls formed together as one.

Left: Brilliant styrofoam wine storage also at Wabnitz Editions. I love the organic quality of this piece; it is such a modern way of storing wine. Right: This Charles and Marie wall-mounted, deer head vase caught my eye since I have been scouting the world for faux deer heads. It will be available in a month or so.

Left: This is Kip Kotzen’s hand from Areaware on this clever "Buckminster Fuller" inspired birdhouse–love the pink cord. Right: All the way from Mexico, DFC was showing this fun silver stump made of fiberglass.

Two more tables from American Design Club members Rich, Brilliant, Willing.

Badminton anyone? So clever! This is from the American Design Club, a design club promoting emerging American designers.
