Energy Audits and Meters = Good Idea
Energy Audits and Meters = Good Idea
September 4, 2008

This is more of a reminder than a "wow, that's cool" post, but important, nonetheless! Studies have shown that the more aware you are of your energy consumption (even without deliberate attempts to reduce), the more likely you are to save energy. So before winter rolls around, make sure to do two things, if nothing else:
- Get an energy home audit! Search for local energy auditors via the EnergyStar site here.
- Be aware of your energy consumption. Check out the real-time TED energy monitor, or make your own with this DIY Power Meter "recipe," one of the winners of last year's Greener Gadgets Competition.
