Photographer Eric Laignel Sees Tibet Through a Different Lens


Star photographer Eric Laignel, who shot the cover of this issue of

Interior Design

and a dozen stories inside, travels all over the globe to document projects from top firms. It’s not often, however, that he gets to plan a personal itinerary. So, inspired by Tintin in Tibet as well as political curiosity, he and his wife jetted off. With the

St. Regis Lhasa Resort

as their base, they visited centuries-old monasteries, hiked through mountains, and—never ones to shy away from adventure—visited local’s houses and tasted savory pancakes.
