    Hellman-Chang Introduce Seating Line

Designers Daniel Hellman and Eric Chang of Hellman-Chang recently invited a group of industry friends to dinner at their Brooklyn, NY, studio to launch their first seating collection.  In a move that showed the six-year old design partnership knows how to keep an audience engaged, guests witnessed a woodworker carefully reproduce the first item to debut in the seating line: The Avery Chair (photo above). Made of Espresso walnut with Nova Suede cushioning, the chair was displayed in various stages of completion during the night. During dinner, guests were seated atop one-of-a-kind purple upholstered stools (lined up beneath the dining table in the photo below) that were individually numbered, made of solid wood and featured a custom Hellman-Chang lacquer. The best part? Guests were given the stools as a party favor.
