Donald Powell: 1989 Hall of Fame Inductee

Donald D. Powell


After receiving his university degree in architecture and serving as an officer in the United States Air Force Research and Development Command, followed by a Fulbright Traveling Fellowship in Europe, Donald D. Powell joined the Chicago office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill . He spent 15 glorious years working with the many luminaries in the SOM Chicago office during the Golden Age of that firm. In 1976, he established Powell/Kleinschmidt , with Robert D. Kleinschmidt based in Chicago.
