After a 32-year run at the Waldorf Astoria, Interior Design's annual Hall of Fame (HoF) awards is relocating to the River Pavilion at Javits Center in NYC. The 2017 edition of the event falls on a special anniversary year for the magazine—its 85th birthday—as well as the centennial of the building's famed architect, I.M. Pei.
“The alchemy of finding a modern setting designed by a true icon on the occasion of his 100th anniversary was irresistible!" says Cindy Allen, editor in chief of Interior Design. "Guests will see a whole new side of the building: one of light, scale, and extraordinary views of the Hudson River."
Since its inauguration in 1985, the Hall of Fame was held in the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria hotel; due to the property's three-year renovation, Interior Design sought out a fresh location.
Hosted by Allen and Interior Design publisher Carol Cisco, the Hall of Fame will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017. This year's inductees will be announced in the early fall.
